Privacy Policy

Pitols does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. It has no user accounts and no analytics or tracking. Your notes, settings, and the hardware readings shown in its widgets stay on your device. The app only uses the internet when you choose to search for wallpapers or icons, and it uses your camera and microphone only for its own on-device features.

Information Pitols stores on your device

Pitols keeps the following on your own computer, under your Windows user profile. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else:

Your notes and reminders (Daily Space) and any images you add to them.
Your settings and personalization choices — theme, language, custom taskbar layout, widget configuration, and your chosen cursors, system sounds, and wallpaper.
Cached images you download through the built-in wallpaper/icon search, and thumbnails used to draw the interface.
Hardware readings (CPU, GPU, memory, network and battery status) shown in the monitor widgets — read live and displayed on screen only, never recorded off your device or transmitted.

You control this data: delete notes within the app, or uninstall Pitols to remove the app’s stored data.

Permissions Pitols uses, and why

Internet. Pitols connects to the internet only when you use its built-in image search, to fetch wallpapers and icons from these third-party services:

Pexels (api.pexels.com) — stock photos and videos.
IconScout (api.iconscout.com) — icons and illustrations.

When you run a search, the text you type and the standard information any web request includes (such as your IP address, which those services receive) are sent to the service you are searching. Your use of those results is also subject to each service’s own privacy policy: Pexels · IconScout. Pitols runs no server of its own and sends no other data over the internet.

Camera. Used only by Pitols’ optional camera feature, for live preview, still photos, and video recording. Any photo or video is saved as a file on your device. Camera images are never transmitted anywhere. Windows asks for your permission before the camera is first used.

Microphone. Used only to record the audio track when you record a video with the camera feature. The audio is saved into that local file and is never transmitted. Windows asks for your permission before the microphone is first used.

What Pitols does not do

No user accounts, sign-in, or profiles.
No analytics, telemetry, tracking, advertising, or advertising identifiers.
No collection, sharing, renting, or selling of personal data.
No diagnostic logs or crash reports are sent off your device.

Purchase and licensing

Pitols is sold as a one-time purchase through the Microsoft Store. The purchase and license check are handled by the Microsoft Store on your device; Pitols does not receive your payment details. Microsoft’s handling of your purchase is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Children’s privacy

Pitols is not directed to children and collects no personal data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new effective date.
